This website makes use of a Change Font Size button to allow you to increase the font size for the article text. Click the little plus size to increase the font size for articles in this site. By the way, this site has a flexible width -- you can stretch your browser window as wide as your monitor will allow and you'll have even more room for those large font sizes!
There are folks who think this is a bit like "giving someone a fish" because all modern web browsers (Firefox, Mozilla, Safari, and even Internet Explorer) have this functionality built into the browser.
Wouldn't it be better, they argue, to teach people what they can do with their browsers to increase the font size of ALL web sites? In other words, wouldn't it be better to "teach them to fish"?
Well, we'll try to do both -- give you the buttons to do it easily and offer a link to a video to teach you more about how you can take control of your browser to improve your experience with this and most other websites.
Add buttons to Resize Text to your Web Browser
This video tutorial shows how to add text sizing icons to your toolbars in Internet Explorer 6 , 7 or in Firefox. If this seems a bit too complicated, ask someone to help you do it. If larger font sizes help, you'll be very glad to have these buttons available for all of your web exploring.
Or Use Keyboard Shortcuts...
If you use the free Firefox browser (download Firefox) you can use keyboard shortcuts to make the text larger. Hold down the Control key (Apple or "Command" on a Mac) and tap the + key. Use Control -minus to make smaller, Control-zero to go back to "normal".
